The Antics

So on July 2nd we're going to be having our first show at the Logan Art house and Cinema! I've very excited, see I've been doing Improv for the last 2 years up here in Logan and we've been always keeping a look-out for a place to play. So at the end of this last school year Brian got in touch with this guy over at the Logan Art house and Cinema and he had been looking for a troupe to do improv just like us. So low and behold we have shows now every friday at 10:30 and I'm gonna get chances to be up on stage rockin my improv. I also got an exciting surprise when our two managers Brian and Greg asked me to be the Technical Director. So I get to figure everything out for the techy stuff, i.e. lights, sound, possible and eventually the projector. I'm excited they asked me to do it, it makes me feel appreciated I suppose. So we've been gettin ready for our show, and I've been trying to advertise as much as I can, I really want us to get a good turn out, and hopefully by the time I get on stage we'll have a decently large crowd and I'll be able to win all their hearts over, because the more the crowd loves you the more you'll play. So I just need to make sure I focus and am fun and cute. It might help that as of now I'm the only single girl in the troupe. Not gonna lie it gets to me sometimes especially when I overhear comments like "Connie doesn't have a date she's single" and we get together and it's one couple cuddling over there another couple sitting so close together I can't tell whose who over there and another couple over there, if some one's girlfriend isn't there they're texting them over there, and then there's me. Don't get me wrong I love the troupe and I love everyone in it! They're all great fans but I don't think any of them understand how awkward it is sitting in a room of love when you're single. But being the single lady on stage might have it's advantage, cause then the single guys can admire how hot and funny I am and I can become one of their instant favorites, and if I'm a favorite...again I'll probably play more. So I"ll just need to work it! But I'm pretty workable I do think, I mean I got Josh from Off The Wall thinking I'm adorable. Collin Williams the Comedian wanting to make out with me. So I can do it hahaha Seduce the boys that come to the shows that is. Then again hopefully I'll just bring some good improv to the stage. I do have some fun ideas for characters I want to try. There is of course Joan the Marriage counselor. I came up with her about a year ago, and she is really fun to do. She's this crazy marriage counselor that has been divorced 4 times, and writes a bunch of cheesy books, her favorite is actually just called "Marriage" and her favorite tag line is "When you're holding hands you're making a connection" She's super cheesy and crazy fun to play, then I also want to explore the possibility of being a Furby sometime, probably in the game Bad Advice. Then I want to do this crazy loud obnoxious person that plays guitar hero and their tag line is "I know! You got 98% and I only got 97% I know! I'm holding back the band I know!!!" then I might try my super hero idea "Optimistic Me" Fighting Negativity everywhere! OOH I almost forgot my favorite one I want to try. I wanna do a character named Darth Connicus Sith Lord! It's by far my favorite idea so far and I think it would be a funny character Idea. But these are just ideas for characters as you should know, Improv is made up on the spot, so I can bring my ideas to the table for characters but as far as what will happen in the scene or what my characters will do that is yet to be decided. But as you can all tell I'm super excited for our upcoming shows it's going to be fantastic times, so if you happen to be in Logan and like reading my blog and want to come to a show DO SO! :) It's only 5 dollars and it's 2 hours of awesome funny times. The funnest and cheapest date you can find in Logan.

  1. Don't worry Connie- soon I will be back in town and we can be lonely and single together. Man I'm SO jealous about the show and I can't wait to get back to improv as there is NOTHING resembling it here. Are you guys recording the show? Cuz I'd definitely like to feel as if I was there, even though I'm not.
    Good luck!!!
